Natural rubber

Natural rubber, essential in the tyre industry

Natural rubber possesses qualities not possessed by synthetic rubber: low heating and the ability to regain its original shape. Its qualities are essential for use with heavy goods vehicles, agricultural vehicles, aircraft and in civil engineering. The substitution between natural rubber and synthetic rubber therefore remains limited.

Strong complementarity between natural and synthetic rubber

The share of natural rubber compared to synthetic rubber moved from less than 40% in the 2000s to more than 45% today.
