Evolution of the global consumption of natural rubber

The consumption of natural rubber is linked to the development of the automotive industry and especially tyres. This consumption is driven by growth in the emerging markets which include China and India.
The slowing down of Chinese growth has put on hold the increase of world consumption of natural rubber for a few years.
The average increase of consumption becomes is +2,4% since 2012, whereas it was +3,8% over the previous 10 years.

The Chinese consumption has grown rapidly and significantly. Between 2009 and 2016, the Chinese consumption has increased from 35% to 40% of the world consumption
